Wood Level Care

Proper handling and storage are required to maintain the quality of wood levels. The following suggestions will assist in maintaining this quality.

-  Cement contains chemicals that can break down the layers of lacquer that were originally applied to the level. Be sure to clean all wood levels after each use, especially when exposed to cement.

-  The layers of lacquer will inecitable break down after repeated exposure to the chemicals in cement. To protect your level, it is recommended that you apply linseed oil to you level on a regular basis.

-  It is imperative that a wood level is completely dry before storing it in a case or closed area. Hang the wood level by the built in hang hole when damp, or wet, until thoroughly dry. This will help prevent warping, swelling, wood separation, etc.
